Dear teenagers and young people,

we cordially invite you to experience the impressive play “Droge Faust ” by the Bürgerbühne Dresden on November 27, 2024 from 7:30 to 9:00 pm at the Kleines Haus in Dresden.

The play is a modern take on the classic “Faust” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, focusing on the subject of addiction and dependency. In “Droge Faust”, the famous pact between Faust and Mephisto is reinterpreted and addresses how addictive behavior can be portrayed as a kind of “pact” with one’s own inner emptiness and the urge for more and more. It is about the maelstrom of self-destruction that is intensified by drugs and social expectations. The production poses the question: how far will you go to fight your inner demons?

Trigger warning: The play deals with topics such as drug abuse, addiction, psychological stress and self-destruction. It may cause distressing or disturbing reactions in sensitive viewers.

We particularly recommend participation for those interested in socio-critical topics and modern interpretations of classic literature. The play offers plenty of room for reflection and discussion.
